Shin Guards

Shin pads are designed to protect the lower leg below the knee during offensive kicks and defensive leg blocks. Some shin guards protect just the shin and can be worn together with kicks for kickboxing training and competition with light or full contact (WAKO, WKU, ISKA, KICK). Other shin pads include an attached instep pad to protect the top of the foot and the instep for Oriental kickboxing styles such as Muay Thai and K-1. They are also worn in self-defense training in Kung Fu and in Krav Maga. Kicking athletes can find a wide range of safety equipment for their kicks in this category.
